Tamworth Central West NSW Australia

TAMWORTH - NSW

Tamworth - North West New South Wales
The country music capital of Australia- Tamworth is approximately 5 hours drive north west of Sydney.
Tamworth is identifiable by travellers on arrival by the large golden guitar, at the gateway to Tamworth.

Tamworth has a plethora of art galleries, music nostalgia and museums dedicated to country music in Australia-But it also has many attractions that show life as it is and was in the country regions of Australia. Getaway with the family and have an great experience on one of the many farm stays in the area. Did you know Tamworth was the first town in the southern hemisphere to have street lighting?

Many international country music careers have been launched from the famous Country Music festival, held in January each year, with thousand of Country music fans descending on Tamworth for the fun, music and festivities. There are a few good camping grounds in Tamworth, so if you are towing a caravan or driving a camper motor home, we would advise your early bookings, as booking space in the Tamworth camping grounds is at a premium when the Country Music Festival is on. We also advise you to book any of your accommodation or tours for Tamworth in advance, if you are going to do some boot scooting or line dancing in Tamworth over the weeklong festival that is the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

There are many interesting and entertaining attractions to Tamworth, for the retired traveler, or the whole family-so come and tune into Tamworth
