1. Ibiza, Spain

A small island in the Mediterranean Sea, the mention of which makes every clubber's heart beat faster. It is famous for its uninhibited parties, free behaviour and diverse contingent - from "celebrities" living in luxury hotels to those who walked on the last and spend the night on the beach, from young people to European pensioners who decided to remember their youth. Representatives of sexual minorities are also respected here, surprising the unprepared public with their outfits and hairstyles.

San Antonio and the capital's Ivisa are the island's "party" centres. Among the residents and invited guests of Ibiza clubs are Paul van Dyk, Fatboy Slim, Paris Hilton, Will Atkinson, David Guetta and other popular performers.

One of the most famous clubs not only in Ibiza, but also in the world is Amnesia (located near San Rafael), opened in 1976. Alternative options: DC-10, which is located near the airport, Destino on Talamanca Beach, Eden on the San Antonio promenade, Heart in Ibiza City. An integral part of Ibiza's club culture is discos on boats that go out to sea every night from the cities of San Antonio, Ivisa and Playa den Bossa.

During the day (if, of course, you have enough strength after a stormy night), you can relax on one of the beaches (there are about 18 kilometres of them, there are also nudist beaches), check out the hippie market near Platja es Canar, go diving or windsurfing, visit the Old Town of Ivisa. In the evening, enjoy the sunset (they say it's one of the most beautiful in the world) and then dive back into the whirlwind of crazy parties!

2. Ayia Napa, Cyprus

The abundance of nightclubs, discos and bars, where tourists and Cypriots have fun all night long, has led to the resort being nicknamed the "second Ibiza". The city has a club quarter where most of the entertainment venues are concentrated. The most famous clubs in Ayia Napa are: Starskys (the best theme parties are held here), The Castle, Car Wash, Black and White and Red Square. We recommend checking out the Crazy Frog bar, which is famous for its huge cocktail portions and entertaining animators.

If you want to spend a day or two in a more relaxed rhythm, visit the main historical attractions of the resort - the monastery and the rock tombs of Makronissos. Near Cape Greco there is a national park with hiking and cycling routes.

Have you decided to bask in the sun and swim? Ayia Napa is ideal for these purposes, as the local beaches regularly receive the Blue Flag award for cleanliness. Nissi is considered the most popular, where it is crowded in season, while the beaches of Landa, Grecian Bay and Makronissos are less crowded. Outdoor enthusiasts can go diving, surfing, ride a catamaran, jet ski or yacht, or go fishing.

How to get there. The nearest international airport is located in the vicinity of Larnaca, 35 kilometres from the resort. From there you can get to Ayia Napa by bus for €20 or by taxi for €70-100. You will spend from 40 minutes to an hour and a half on the road.

3. Heraklion, Greece

In the largest city of Crete, nightlife is in full swing. Coffee shops are concentrated in the centre, on Korai Street. On Chandakos Street, which rests on the waterfront, there are bars of various kinds: here you can listen to rock, Latin, and Greek melodies. On Sophocles Venizelos Street there are nightclubs with summer areas where you can enjoy the sunrise to the accompaniment of fashionable hits. The best clubs are Island of Desire and Loft, and for creative cocktails we recommend going to Trito, The Bitters, Wets & Drys or Stone Cocktail.

Peninsula (28 kilometres from Heraklion) and Malia (34 kilometres from Heraklion) are also famous for their lively nightlife. During the season, famous DJs perform in the clubs of these cities. Another party resort nearby is Agia Pelagia (18 kilometres from Heraklion), where it is more relaxed but no less fun.

Don't forget that Crete is not only a resort island, but also the cradle of the Minoan civilisation that existed in the second century BC. Parties are parties, but it's a shame not to set aside a few days for sightseeing. We recommend visiting the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, which is one of the best in the world, and seeing the ruins of the Palace of Knossos (the labyrinth that gave rise to the myth of the Minotaur, Theseus and the threads of Ariadne).

But there are no beaches in Heraklion. To sunbathe, you will have to go, for example, to Ammoudara Beach (5 kilometres from the centre of the capital).

How to get there. Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport is located six kilometres from Heraklion. You can get to the capital from there by bus or taxi (from €50). There are ships between the ports of Athens and Heraklion.

4. St Julians, Malta

The town of Pacheville, which has actually merged with St Julians, is considered the party capital of the country. It consists of bars, restaurants, clubs and discos, a casino and the largest cinema in Malta. The fun in Paceville doesn't stop until dawn, and you can always find a place to drink and dance. Nightclubs are concentrated on four streets around the central square: Dragonara Road, Wilga Street, St Georges Road and St Rita Steps.

Active partygoers recommend visiting the Havana, Hugo's Passion, Axis, Fuego, Barfunk, The Alley and Sabor clubs. They play music of different styles, so everyone will find something to their liking. Hugo's Terrace bar on St. George's Bay, the only sandy beach in the vicinity of St. Julian's, invites you to relax after a stormy night.

When planning a city walk, include the St. George's Watchtower and Barracks, Dragonara Palace, which now houses a casino, and several interesting churches, such as St. Julian's Parish Church or Immaculate Conception Church.

How to get there. There is a bus service from Malta International Airport to St. Julians.

5. Riccione, Italy

This resort town on the Adriatic coast has the best nightclubs and discos in the Italian province of Rimini. The most fashionable of them are concentrated on the hill, and the beach area on the border with Rimini is filled with young people who like to party under the stars by the sea in the evenings.

The best discos in the style of the 80s are Byblos, Villa delle Rose and Peter Pan. International hits are played at the Cocoricò disco, and you can dance to Latin American tunes at the Palacio de la Salsa. Near the beach, in the area called Marano, there are fashionable clubs Moijto Beach, Operà, Sbronzo, Palma, El Mexicali.

The most popular entertainment in Riccione after partying is shopping. Look for fashionable novelties from Armani, Trussardi, D&G, Guess and other luxury brands on Via Ceccarini, and shoes by Italian designers on Via Dante.

Tired of the endless parties, you can go to one of the local sandy beaches, visit the Aquafan water park or the dolphinarium in nearby Rimini. There are also historical sights: Villa Francesca, Villa Mussolini, Congress Palace, Castello degli Agolanti in the outskirts of the city. Fans of contemporary art will appreciate the collection of the local art gallery, and those who are not indifferent to the affairs of long gone days are invited to the Riccione Archaeological Museum.

Getting there. There is an international airport, railway station and bus station in neighbouring Rimini. You can also fly to Bologna Airport and then take a train to the site.

6. Mykonos, Greece

The Greek island of Mykonos never sleeps. Experts call it a worthy alternative to Ibiza, and many world stars, such as Madonna, Nicolas Cage, Russell Crowe and Michael Jordan, agree with them. There is an abundance of entertainment venues here, but the best are Cavo Paradiso on Paradise Beach (included in the TOP 10 best discos in the world), Remezzo and Space Mykonos Xperience. They host famous DJs and the loudest parties, where you can meet actors, musicians, athletes and other people from the cover."

Mykonos is also rich in interesting sights. Even if you, like most tourists, did not come here for excursions, we recommend visiting the Castro Fortress, near which the Paraportiani National Monument (a group of ancient churches) is located, seeing the "doors of Mykonos" - two impressive towers, and admiring the lighthouse built in 1891. Do not miss the famous windmills - the hallmark of the island (only 7 out of 28 have survived).

Have you decided to freshen up your tan? The beaches of Mykonos are waiting for you, in the ranking of which the nudist Paradise and Paraga are in the lead, as well as those suitable for diving Psarou and Platis Gialos.

How to get there. By ferry from one of the ports of Athens or by plane from Athens, from the islands of Crete, Santorini and Rhodes.

7. Saint-Tropez, France

One of the most fashionable resorts on the French Riviera, where you can relax on a grand scale and do whatever your heart desires. If, of course, you have enough money, because a beautiful life is not cheap.

The most prestigious club in France, Les Caves du Roy, is located in the Byblos Hotel. Be prepared to pay from €50 for a cocktail and about €500 for a bottle of not the best champagne. What can you do, you have to pay for the right to touch the world of the rich and famous.

Another legendary club is the VIP Room, which Karl Lagerfeld once called the best in the world. During the day, it is a Mediterranean restaurant, and at night it transforms into a huge dance floor. The top three clubs are rounded off by Papagayo, where Antonio Banderas is among the regulars.

The second most popular leisure activity in Saint-Tropez is shopping. There are boutiques of all the world's leading designers here, where you can easily leave almost all your money - don't lose your head!

While enjoying the nightlife, don't forget about the sights. The Old Town is worth a visit, where the Notre-Dame de l Annonciade Chapel houses a rich collection of paintings by Signac, Matisse and other famous artists. In the vicinity of the bustling resort, there are many typical Provencal villages where you can go to relax in silence and feel the local flavour (Ramatuelle, Hassan, Grimaud and others).
