Situated 76km nth of Hook Point. Camping sites are limited to camper-trailers and off road caravans. Coin operated showers are available Access is by vehicle barge from Inskip Point. Beware - Fraser Island has many Dingo's in residence, and it is illegal to feed them. Camping permits must be aquired prior to arrival. Best time to visit - All year round

Just 6km south of Kenilworth is the Kenilworth State Forest. With rainforests, creeks, scenic lookouts, waterfalls, and beautifull landscapes, this lovely forest makes for enjoyable camping. There are many types of birds and wildlife, with activities such as bushwalking, car touring, mountain bike riding and horse riding (permits required.) The camping ground is located 10km sth west of Kenilworth, via Sunday Creek Rd. Camping Permit required.

Located 12km east of Seaforth, this spectacular park offers campers and day visitors rocky headlands, coastal scenes and beautiful sandy beaches. Conventional vehicle access is 2km north of Mackay via Cape Hillsborough Rd. Bring own drinking water, own firewood and fire bucket. Camping fees can be paid at self regisrtation station.

What a beautiful place to camp... Nearly 300,000 hectares in area, this area offers lots of interesting natural features, including waterfalls, rock art sites and wild life. The camping area is accessible in dry only, Camping permits are required. Coin operated showers. Gas/Fuel stoves only.

This is the site where Burke & Wills expected to the rest of their team - the last chance survival... The Dig Tree is a famous tree where limited supplies were buried. Camping in this area is free, however the entrance fee is payable. Located alongside Cooper Creek. Firewood is supplied, bring own drinking water.
