Thredbo
Get some freshies July - October Thredbo is the prettiest Alpine Village in Australia, with a warm and friendly atmosphere it offers the longest runs of all the resorts in the country with a vertical drop of 672 metres. The resort has an extensive lift system with three detachable quad chairlifts, one quad chair, two double chairs and five t-bars. Lifts start to open at 8.30am with the last lift closing at 4.30pm.

Thredbo ski school has programs for all types of skiers and snowboarders from first timers to extensive training programs for the experts, ski hosts are also available twice a day and will give you a free two hour guided tour the mountain.

Food and refreshments are available on the mountain at a choice of four mountain food outlets as well as a choice of eateries at the two base stations. Ski and snowboard hire is provided at both base stations.

Summer is also a great time to visit Thredbo with a nine hole PGA rated golf course, four tennis courts with lights, fantastic walking trails and some awesome mountainbike trails.

Perisher Blue
Four resorts, Perisher, Smiggins Hole, Guthega and Blue Cow have all been amalgamated and are now part of one huge resort called Perisher Blue.Covering an area of 1250 hectares with 50 interconnecting lifts spanning seven mountain peaks this is the largest resort in the southern hemisphere. The resort has a world class ski school with over 250 instructors from around the world. There are packages for everyone, from good skiers refining their technique to first timers and kids who wish to experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding.

Access to Perisher Blue from Jindabyne is either via Kosciusko Road to Perisher or Guthega, or by the Skitube(a train through the mountains) from Bullocks Flat on the Alpine Way.
