Katherine Gorge
Northern Territory (NT)

The spectacular Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park is a must-see. The 13 wonderful gorges of Nitmiluk National Park began 23 million years ago as torrents of water pouring along tiny cracks in the earth. The National Park is rich in Aboriginal art, with rock paintings representing the spiritual 'dreaming' of the Jawoyn people, the traditional owners of the land. More than 100 kilometres of walking tracks meander through the National Park including a five-day trek to Edith falls.
